Post Production

Unit 4: Post Production

Objectives:

In this unit you will learn the difference between linear and non-linear editing. You will explore the basic functions of Adobe Premiere Pro in the creation of your first edit.
Standards:
AAVTC-AVTFI-3 Understand and utilize trade terminology in an appropriate manner.
3.1 Identify and utilize trade terminology in the media production lab.
3.2 Identify and utilize trade abbreviations and acronyms as appropriate.
 
AAVTC-AVTFI-8 Demonstrate the use of technology in recording and post-production applications.
8.1 Identify recording formats and compression methods used with digital media.
8.2 Demonstrate the production of still and motion graphics.
8.3 Capture and / or transfer digital video using editing application.
8.4 Demonstrate basic editing techniques while producing a finished video.
8.5 Demonstrate various methods to export completed media including DVD authoring and digital upload.
8.6 Demonstrate basic audio editing techniques.

What does Non-Linear editing mean?
What functions can you perform in post production?
What are some of the shortcuts in Adobe Premiere Pro?

ACTIVITIES

Activity 1:Workbook and Quiz

Step 1: Log into Google Classroom and complete the activity entitled Unit 4 Ch. 24 Module Work.
Step 2: Read Chapter 24 in our textbook and then review the Powerpoint HERE on Non-linear editing. 
Step 3: Complete the Chapter 24 workbook activities on pages 129 - 132 ONLY.  
Step 4: Once module work is complete, you may take the Unit 4 Ch. 24 Quiz located in Google Classroom.

Activity 2: Introduction to Adobe Premiere

Step 1: Watch the following video tutorial on Adobe Premiere. You may download the Layout Guide and Interface Guide to have a visual for use in the your edit bay.

Activity 3: Hands on Editing

Step 1: Check out Camera and SD card reader.
Step 2: Complete the edit assignment HERE using Adobe Premiere, iMovie, Final Cut, or Movie Maker on your tablet
